At Enjoy Recruitment, we see a lot of advice on writing a CV but it’s always a good idea to remind yourself of what the employer really wants to see. In the latest advice on the Daily Telegraph’s career section, the advice includes keeping it short and ‘supercharging’ your key statements.
Supercharging includes testing each of your statement with a ‘So what?’ question. What did the project that you led achieve? Keeping it short applies to focusing on your most recent roles if you’ve got a long career history. It also applies to the overall length of the CV. Some recruiters are said to often see CVs of more than 5 pages long which is too long to wade through to find your key skills. And a final reminder for the basics – don’t just send out the same document for each role – get specific and make sure every carefully crafted word is spelt correctly. More here on CV tips.
